It's funny because all they talk about is how much they didn't like this legal assistant and that legal assistant, til I finally figured out, it's because they don't know how to manage people.
I am expected to read their thoughts and yet for the mundane, routine tasks, I am given ten minute instructions. Seems the thought process is a "little" ascue.
Dealing with any 'rookie' is tough and you have to 'bite your tongue... a lot sometimes.' The worst situation is a new or newly new... manager (or junior mgr) is that a little knowledge is dangerous when combined with a stupid ego...

My Mother just found a pile of unopened letters addressed from her to her Dad - dated within the last three months. Since my grandmother died, not only did her sister-in-law erase my grammy and my family from the house (that they've lived in for 30 YEARS), she did not deliver mail to my grandpa from his DAUGHTER!!
Upset. Rather upset...

My theory was that attorneys just aren't given any management training.
The condesending talk gets to be a bit much.
I have been here for six months, the office manager stuff I had wrapped around my little finger. It was just the legal stuff I had to work on, thing is it's the office stuff I get tips on, then the legal stuff they don't give the information so that I can perform the job. Just a bit ash-backwards... I am a trooper though.
I do miss a bigger office though, more people to communicate with. Here I have A or B. More often it is just me here so that has it's pro's and con's.

Yep, more people in the office 'spreads the love around' and you can duck and hide more easily...

I don't know. My boss called me and asked me for the formula to find out how many cubic yards are in a bag and it makes no sense. I don't even know how big of a bag. I would think like a 50 gallon bag.

Sorry Stinger! I used to come in here around 6 in the morning. But I got my hours cut so I don't come in until 8 now. I usually get to far behind on paperwork that I don't come through sooner. I hope my boss igured it out already.

Ok, so I called my boss and he told me the fomula. You have to do it in feet. You would take length X Width X Depth divided by 27.
Its kind of messed up if you ask me.

Movie that had "Death" brand cigarette's

Anyone remember this movie? All I can remember was that it was late 80's, early 90's, kind of Pulp Fiction-y Quentin Tarantino style movie. The only scene I remember was the main character who was a female (I think it might have even been Drew Barrymore?) driving some car smoking those Death...

Hose bib question "prier" brand
[ 5 Answers ]
I've got a leaky hose bib that says PRIER on the body of the bib. I'm guessing PRIER is the name of the company that made it. It is a frost proof bib and it leaks only when it is turned on. It leaks around where the stem (part with the handle on it) screws into the bib body (part that is...
