    1099 Misc
Can some one Help me on this.

My employer paid me a referral income for a candidate I referred,

He paid me by parts which came as part of my regular Pay on montly basis.

The total came to around $ 4374.00 for the year 2008.

But this did not come as part of my W-2 instead he sent a 1099 Misc.

How should I show this 1099 Misc when I file my returns..

Should I show it as Schedule C or shown as line 21 (Other income) of 1099 .

I am very much confused on this.

    Thanks

You will report your income and expenses on schedule C or C-EZ (Form 1040). Then you put net income (or loss) on line 12 of Form 1040. This income is subject to SE tax at 15.3% (this is shown on line 57 of Form 1040). Half of SE tax is deductible on line 27 of Form 1040.
