Asbestose wire
I was working on my house (built around the 1950 or later) and noticed the wiring , I was wondering the chances that it may conatin asbestose.
I actually can see the following. Paranite non metallic shielded cable 600 volt, the cables outer casing feels greasy to the touch and is black made of some sort of braid, the inner part has a black and white wire covered in a what appears a modern day rubber or plastic type wrap. Greetings, My home is 3-wire. I bought a Hunter ceiling fan (model 23811). The fan came with a remote assy. That I do NOT want to use... The fan has standard 3-wire connections (black, white, blk&white strip, ground). The remote receiver home-side wiring looks to be for 2-wire (blk and white)....
