    Living with beau and alimony
    I am receiving alimony and would now like my boyfriend to move in with me.. my lawyer says I will lose alimony if someone lives with me Is this true? I don't want to remarry

    Why would your lawyer tell you something wrong? Usually this is the case and assuming your lawyer is familiar with your divorce decree, I'd follow his/her advice.

    The thing is, you can't have your cake and eat it too- you can't still expect your ex to support you while you're living with a new man.

    While that sounds obsurd to me, I would refer to your attornies advice. In my husbands case, he's paying alimony until either a. his ex remarries or b. she dies. Obviously, he wouldn't have to pay it should he pass.
