    Can you tell me what fuse number is for tail lights on a 1999 ford contour sport

    Its usually in the owners manual. Hate they don't all identify on fuse block.
    Someone may have answer. I would use a $5 test light and test all fuses.
    Or put a tone on the tail light wire and trace forward to headlight switch then fuse.

    Doesn't the fuse box cover indicate what they are for?

    Many don't. I would test all fuses with a $5 Test light, 5 minutes.
    Owners Manual will show Fuse Loxation and Numbers.
    What lights work when you walk around and have 4 way flashers working?
