Hi Kidsy...
Need a little more here... OK? What are you trying to do? Most basements do not have Ptraps. Most FIXTURES have Ptraps...
Let me know more...

OK... thanks...
Dig down 6-12"...never know here.. ;) If the boxout is there... pipe should be, too. You may need to dig deep to the sides.
Let me know how you make out.. OK?

Just that I want you to dig down and explore the box... find the pipe. It should be there.

What kind of trap are you expecting to find, a floor drain trap, a shower trap or a toilet trap? That last one was just a trck question, toilet drains do not have a trap.

Bob.. this is for a BATHTUB (post#4)...
As you know, he will not find a trap, but he should find a pipe.

Just so you didn't miss this post by Mark, you will most likely not find a p-trap, so you are not looking for a vertical pipe, you will be looking for a horizontal pipe, could be any where inside boxed area or even a few inches to the outside area of boxed area. Just dig till you find it, then you will have to install a trap when hooking up tub. Good luck and please let us know what you find. And if you would like further assistance, come on back.

kidsy, where are you coming from. You gave me a reddie in post #8 when I asked a qusetion. Do you know how this site works? I did miss the fact that you indicated this was a bathtube but that is not a factual error, I just asked for clarification. So much for trying to help someone who did not know the answer to start with.
