    HIPAA violation
My step son is double covered with our insurane as secondary. When he's been to the doctor his mother uses her address when she signs him in. When my insurance company received claims from the doctors office, it had her address, and instead of talking to me, mailed the EOB's to her address. When they did this in September they told me they sent it to whatever address the doctor's office gave them. I wasn't too concerned as they have rights to his claims, however, they sent another one to them (EOB) two weeks ago and this one had two claims for my step son and one for ME!! So they saw my claim as well.

As for as the child, yes she would as primary parent ( assume that is the case) she has the right to see them.

The mailing of yours is an error and you need to notify them of this and file a complaint with the office that did this

The doctors office sent the EOB, not the insurance company??

No it was the insurance company that sent the EOB, however, they claim that since the doctor's office filed the claim with his mother's address, that that is why they changed mine... and I wasn't to upset about it when it happened in September being as it was only my step son's claim but now that they're sending mine there as well I'm a little peeved! Thanks for the response. I am looking into filing a violation claim.
