I need to find out if a particular attorney is any good, maybe see how her previous cases were handled, how long she has been an attorney, where did she go to school, etc... just need to know if she is worth using.

You should be able to find out how long she's been practicing and where she went to school directly from her. As for how her other cases went, they may or may not be indicative of her work as an attorney; I've seen judges make ridiculous rulings before - doesn't mean the attorney didn't try their hardest or is bad at their job.

I primarily wanted to research her BEFORE I hired her and wondered if there were any web sites on the internet where you could learn background info on an attorney.
    Thanks anyway.

    Sunny Beach,

Depending on your state there are committees that monitor attorneys, but the best information they will tell you is that they are lawful to practice in that state. You can Google, there is also avvo.com, but since we are talking about rating and giving information about attorneys - the site has been pretty unsuccessful.

Look up your state and attorney registration and discipline, at least that is what it is in Illinois, that ARDC.

If I can ask, what type of case is this for?
