Since you have a family history you will run a greater chance of developing diabetes yourself. Weight can be an issue for some people as well.

Best to keep a record of fasting and two hour checks after a meal for a few weeks and get an average. Your doctor may want to have a A1C blood test done which will give you another indication of your levels have been.

Depending on your results, you might be in the range considered glucose intolerant, or prediabetic. Changes in diet and exercise can sometimes help prevent Type II diabetes, but it is something you will want to have periodic checks on.

You have made exceptional progress. Cholesterol needs to be below 100. You also need to see what your blood pressure is. Pain/infections typically raise blood sugar.

Look at fasting, 1 hr and 2 hrs after a meal for a few days as suggested above.

When the pharmacies want to sell more meds they lower the rates.
Liike high cholesterol use to be over 200, Now it is down around 100.
But it is always good to keep it as low as possible.

Some things that help balance blood sugar are eating a cup of green beans and a teaspoon of cinnamon a day. You can buy the cinnamon tablets.
Here is a site on blood sugar
    The Glycemic Index

    Antioxidents also help with blood
    Also insotol helps balance sugar

But if you take meds you need to be careful what supplements you take because some can counteract and some can be like over dosing.

I have had borderline high sugar levels too. They can be kept down by taking a 45 minute to 1 hour walk most days of the week. Work out with weights 2 or 3 times a week. Eat a high fiber, low fat diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lots of water. Reduce stress. The following foods can keep sugar from rising when eaten with a large meal. Cinnamon, pickles, coffee, garlic and onions, a glass of red wine or other alcohol if it is safe for you to drink.
