    Tips for disputing license
    I just got a ticket for driving without a license, however, I have an international license from my home country but the officer says its not valid. I'm to go to court in April. Any tips?:confused:

    I looked up international driving permits from the U.S. Department of State. It states that they are a "translation" of the original driving permit to english, but do not stand up as a US legal document. It also states that an individual should go and apply for a state issued driver's license. And to call the state motor vehicles department for more information. You might want to go to a "Ticket clinic" attorney, and get help there.
    They also warn that therew are internet scams purporting to sell international driving permits, that are not worth the paper they are printed on. So avoid those altogether. Good luck!
