    My husband wants to adopt my daughter. In VA
    My husband wants to adopt my daughter, he has been her father almost all her life. Her biological father has never been around and never signed the birth certificate. I am trying to find the steps to take to get her adopted, I will not change my last name until the adoption is final. (she has mine). We are in VA. Can anyone send me in the right direction? I would greatly appreciate it :)

    Normally of course they want you to be married about a year, and your attorney will draw up paper work for the bio father to sign over his rights to allow you to adopt. After he signs you file for the adoption
