    Notification of death and Wills
My father has always been a hard man to get along with all his life. Mom divorced him when we were children. Second family could not get out of the house fast enough. I have always been there for him when he was single, inviting him over the holidays and such. He now has a few million dollars and has cut me off as well for the past 5 years, not answering phones or his door. What's done is done. However, I would like some of the money when he passes away. Obviously I won't know when he passes due to the fact he has locked himself in and has no one and lives out of town. Do I have any legal options as far as being notified when he passes and information about his will?

Welcome to AMHD. You may enhance the opportunity to learn of his passing by subscribing to the local newspaper.
Whether your father leaves a last will and testament, you are entitled to notice because you are an heir at law. For instance, in Virginia: "Generally, notice must be given to the decedent's spouse, heirs at law, whether or not there is a will, beneficiaries under the decedent will, if any, and beneficiaries under any will of the decedent previously probated with the court." Probate and estate administration in Virginia - VirginiaEstateLaw.com - Notice of Probate (btw, I'm neither resident of VA or associated with this firm.)
