    the sum of two positive integers is 31. If the sum of the square of these numbers is 625. Find the smaller of the numbers

    Let X be the first number
    Let Y be the second number

    The Sum of the number is 31. Therefore, X+Y = 31

    You can figure out the "sum of the square is 625" and solve the two equations for "X" and "Y".
