    Period moods getting worst
    Hello,
I know that when a woman is in that time of the month she gets real moody.. Ive noticed though, that not only do I get moody and really cranky but I also get very emotional and tend to cry for any discussion.. Its weird cause when I was younger that wouldn't happened to me its only now when Iam 24 yrs old I tend to cry and get extremely angry (mostly with my husband).. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to calm me down in those horrible days.. I hold in a lot of things that my husband sometimes does throughout the month and then I tend to let it all out those days when Iam PMSing.. My emotions literraly goes crazy that I have trouble controlling.. Sometimes when I get angry with my husband during those times, I tend to hit him and afterwards can't stay still and stop crying.. Then at night I can't go to sleep cause I start thinking ALOTTT and mostly negative things but I just can't control it.. Is this normal? And if it is how can I control my temper during that time? I know that when I get depress at that time my body gets the urge for chocolate..
Theirs got to be something out their to control these really bad mood... any advice-Iam actually passing through it this week.. :(

I also wanted to add that I tend to get it a lot with my husband.. And the funny thing is that I see myself acting up silly and angry- but I can't control it and I don't want to admit it either at the time.. what can I do?
I go crazy in those days and I don't want to make my hubby also nuts

Are you over 40? If so... u know what it is... perimenopause. It starts earlier late 30's... some women have gone on anti-depressants,

    Tips on controlling PMS

    * Eat complex carbohydrates (such as whole grain breads, pasta and cereals), fiber and protein. Cut back on sugar and fat.
    * Avoid salt for the last few days before your period to reduce bloating and fluid retention.
    * Cut back on caffeine to feel less tense and irritable and to ease breast soreness.
    * Cut out alcohol. Drinking it before your period can make you feel more depressed.
    * Try eating up to 6 small meals a day instead of 3 larger ones.
    * Get aerobic exercise. Work up to 30 minutes, 4 to 6 times a week.
    * Get plenty of sleep--about 8 hours a night.
    * Keep to a regular schedule of meals, bedtime and exercise.
    * Try to schedule stressful events for the week after your period.

The suggestions here are all good but what worked very well for me is yoga.I think its not only physically stimulating but also a peaceful way to just chill out.

Good luck and know you are not alone. You also may want to discuss this with your gyno if you feel you can't get a handle on it.

    Hi,

When I read your question I said to myself OH MY GOD I'm NOT ALONE. I feel the same thing, absolutely everything. Actually I was trying to find out why I am so crazy during this period. I'm IN ITTTTTT And its just to hard to accept that there is nothing we can do about it. It's just Mother Nature. What I understand from the things I read about menstruation and hormone changes we can call the whole period the reminder of hardship of being a mother. Every month our body is getting ready to become a mother and this preparation is not very smooth...

I know it is not a satisfying answer I just wanted to say we are not ALONE. Maybe we women should come together and open an organization to come together and share and help each other during these hard PERIOD!!

You know what I see that I'm not alone I'm that same way any thing that's said I'm saying something. It like a cat and a dog with me and my husband when I'm on my period nut I tried when I'm in my period to try not to think that I'm on it and just relax but it still don't work but if you try something that work please let me know.
