Connection of HDTV, HD-DVD and HD Directv receiver
Help! I just bought a new HD Dvd 5 disc player and need to hook it up to the HDTV. I have 1 HDMI cable. Can someone please tell me what cable goes from the directv receiver box to the hd-dvd to the hdtv? Do I need to get another HDMI cable?
    Thank you much!

A second HDMI cable from DVD changer to a second HDMI on TV would work well. If you don't have 2 HDMI inputs, what do you have?

    Hi-
I have about 3 hdmi inputs on the hdtv, but I didn't know if I could connect the receiver to the dvd to the TV using only 1 hdmi cable? I have 1 input on the receiver, 1 input on the dvd and 3 inputs on the TV. Thanks.

If to record DVD then in series like you mention. You will still need 2 HDMI cables.
Look through connection Types and connection cables:

Completely off topic but... Why did you decide to buy an HD-DVD player, no one is making this format anymore. It was dropped May of last year.

Or did you mean Blu-Ray when you said HD-DVD?

I use the dvd player for my 2 year old son to watch videos and the old one broke, so I purchased a new hd-dvd player. It does not record.

    Well, since a player only.
Like the first post. Just add the DVD to the TV input with a HDMI, since DVD and TV will allow.
There are cheaper cables. Component, Composite.
