    Thermostat causing dim lights?
I woke up this morning to find my heat had turned off. I went to my non-programmable thermostat to see that there was no power to this device. I pressed a few of the buttons and nothing happened. The screen would not light up at all. I then went to the main circuit breakers in the garage and all were on.

However I noticed the light in the garage was dim and when I turned off the specific breaker to the foyer where the thermostat was located the light became bright as normal.

Is the thermostat the problem or could it be another issue?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

You failed to mention... did the heating system come back on after resetting the circuit breaker?

Hello KC13, No the thermostat or heating system never powered back on. I also checked all connections therein the thermostat and they were fine. The whole system was fine before going to bed.

Check the blower access panel to assure it is securely attached. If it comes loose, it will disengage an interlock switch behind it and interrupt power to the unit.

To complete this question, it seems the problem was worse. The power lines to my house were bad. Electric co fixed them and thermostat is fine. Thanks.
