    Linzer Cookies
I would like to make Linzer cookies at home. I have been researching recipes online and in cookbooks, and they all seem to include hazelnuts that are ground finely and then added to the recipe. I was wondering if I could substitute the hazelnut with another nut, like almonds since you could buy them pre-ground? Or would this affect the flavour too much?
    Thank you!

I think that the almonds would affect the flavor, but not overwhelmingly too much. You could actually make them an almond/cherry flavor by using cherry-ish jam for the middle of the cookie.

This recipe Linzer Cookies Recipe With Picture - Joyofbaking.com calls for a few different types of nuts. :)

    Best of luck!
