Ex felon wants to see his friend Graduate Army
I want to see my friend graduate from the army. Next week and have bought all new clothes and plane ticket to fly to Atlanta etc... etc... Now by looking at different websites about different bases rules and regulations I don't know if I will be able to get on base. I am flying down there with his wife and she has a government issued id. I do know that some places only look for terroisist watch list, warrants and sex offenders and felony convictions that are less than 10 years old. Some also look for crimes that are considered violent misdemeanor and felony that occurred at any time range. This is Fort Benning that I will be trying to ener and my crime was second degree reckless injury to a child, and it occurred right at 14 years ago. Please help I have already dropped over 700 hundred on this trip.

I am assuming you are talking about graduation from basic training. They will not be running background checks on you at the front gate, if you have a valid ID you will go into a graduation service. There are most likely men granduating with crimes as bad.

I think FrChuck and I have always agreed before but I "have" to disagree here. I think ID of people entering the Base will be checked and a Federal database will be used to doublecheck.

I am near an Air Force Base, entered to take a statement, my Drivers License was checked and my name was run before I got through the gate.

Maybe with a graduation they aren't as strict. I don't know, but it is a possibility.

I do see this arrest was the result of a child's broken leg so I think the people manning the gate are not going to be terribly warm and wonderful.

Curious to see how this plays out.

Well I got in. 100% id check means having a valid id for everyone in the vehicle.

I go onto several bases each month, I show them my ID and they wave me past. In that 15 seconds from the time he looks at my DL and the time he waves me past I don't really see any checks being done. But then it may depend on the base and even the security level of the day I guess
