    Want to buy neighbors abandoned home
    I want tp purchase the home across the street from me. I know the owners. The man died 10 yrs ago and the woman has been in an unknown nursing home for 5 years now. They have no children and no living relatives. They are the current title owners and there is no mortgage. This home is in poor shape and needs my tlc.

    Contact a local realtor and ask them to represent you in purchasing the property.

    The nursing home involvement may or may not be a problem. If she is receiving financial assistance through Medicaid, they may have a lien against the house to help recover their costs but won't take action while she is alive.

    Yes the possible nursing home lien may be an issue, have you went to the property tax office and found out where the tax bills are being mailed
