HEIL Model# PGF036K100A.Serial# L014252283.can't keep burners up&running aftr.5mins
HEIL model#PGF036K100A... serial#L014252283... I just replaced both the HONEYWELL natural gas valve, as well as,the(3)wire igniter-Flame Rod Assembly & now-system igniter will glow red & ignite the pilot, which in turn, lights all(4)burners... I can only get burners to stay burning for(2-5)mins at a time... then burners go out... tried jumping the high output sensor, but same luck... this is what it was doing before I changed out the gas valve & igniter system and (3)wire wiring harness... Have I wasted time & money?? I am now at a loss & have a very cold & frustrated family?? I need HELP... If I follow the trouble-shooting guide, it says I have no problem, but I do & can't seem to fix it... Thanks, Shane Self... ( [email protected])... ( [email protected])...

Is the control board flashing a code when it shuts down. A semi restricted vent can cause the pressure switch to open after ignition.

Is there possible flame roll out causing rollout/limit switch to kill the power to the gas valve? How long after the 2-5 minute burning time before it tries to relight and burn again?

If this is a condensing furnace, the drain hoses and/or trap may be clogged. If so, the unit would run short cycles, interrupted by condensate accumulation.

Thanks for trying folks, but the trouble wasn't actually with the gas valve or the igniter, it ended up being with the fan shroud, in the squirrel cage. It was completely busted off the shaft of the fan motor. This caused it to stop pushing air into the house, which in turn caused too much heat to build up b/t the burners & the fan motor, both of which had high limit sensors & one or the other was getting to hot & cutting off the natural gas flow, which would then cause the igniter/rod assembly to quit working. I missed this during the initial round of troubleshooting, because I heard the fan motor running, failed to pull the side panel off, and caused myself a few extra days of torment. If only the fan shroud had fallen to pieces or even landed sideways, causing metal on metal carnage... maybe then I would've heard some GOD-AWFUL noises coming from the back of the unit & could've located the trouble sooner. Thanks again for all y'all taking the time to try & help me sort this out. I will be sure to save this site to my favorites, because unfortunately, it probably will not be to long before the dinosaur roars again... although, I'm just a few parts away from a ground-up rebuild of the old gal, and fortunately for my wife & (2)girls, the house is all toasty and warm, for now anyway. I certainly didn't expect this to be the trouble, so remember, just because something is running, doesn't mean that it's not broken... This little tid-bit would've been really useful to me last week:o
Thanks,
Shane Self

Had I seen this post sooner, I would have told you that it was the blower assembly. Heee, heee. Guess I was just a little late. Definitely would have been my first guess.
This is how my answer would have looked...
Check fan shroud and see if it isn't broken off shaft of motor, I guarantee this is your problem. Good luck and please let me know if my answer helps.
Actually, I'm just glad you got it fixed. These things happen, and we all have missed them at one point or another. If we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't learn.
