    Penalty for Shoplifting
    I was recently give a citation for shoplifting in California. This was my first time and the value was around $150.00. What am I looking at as far as penalty and fine? I reqret my actions and I did sign a confession stating what I took. Please advise!

    Stressed in California!

    Well I guess the advice of not sayig anything is beyond the point now.

    There is a first offender program but a fine and probation is about all for a first offence
