    what could this be
I am only 19 and had a baby in Oct 2008, I have had a lot of problems with my knees but while I was pregnant. My knees didn't hurt as bad, but since I've had her they have gotten worse.

My doc. Doesn't know what could be wrong because they hurt in the front and on the sides.
they have tried x-rays, mri's, ultrasound, but nothing turned up. They swell a lot and they pot all the time.

If any one knows what could be wrong please let me know.

They ruled that out because I'm so young and it doesn't run in my family

I have had problems with my knees since I was a child, painful that has woke me up screaming at night. (The pain is worse at night).

Anything from being on my feet all day, weather and that time of the month can bring it on. I don't think they can rule out arthritis, just because of your age.

    What are the symptoms?

How long has it bothered you?

Here is a link that discusses knee pain in young women.I hope you find it useful and you may be able to find something there that you could relate to the doctor.

I do wake up at night and it hurts the worse. I have had knee pain since I was in the 5th grade. Nothing happened and I was put in a knee brace. But other than that it has always hurt and my body is getting use to some pain meds so I don't know what to do anymore

So it hurts all the time? Have you tried like Icy Hot? My grandmother had an oil of wintergreen ointment that worked wonders on the pain.
