    Child custody for unmarried dads
    I live in Louisiana and would like to know my rights as an unmarried father to my new born son who's mother is trying to keep me from him

    You need to go to court and file for paternity. They will establish you as the legal father and order a visitation and support schedule.

    Unitl you establish your position as the legal father you have no real rights. This kmeans you have to go to court to request at least Joint legal custody with visitation rights. The court will order a paternity test to confirm that you are the father and then decide.
