    Elderly Mother Being Treated Badly
My Mother is in her eighties. I have a cousin in his sixties and he and his wife live in another state. They visit Mom and other family members a few times each year. My cousin keeps asking why I do not bring my Mother to visit him and his wife. The truth is his wife is a snob and is rude to my Mother. I am never at her home when this happens. My Mother's television went out and we got her another one. Prior to getting a television stand she sit the new one on the old cabinet type one. His wife will made the comment"Why have we never thought sitting our TV on another TV, dear?" My Mother always cooks them a huge meal, and again a rude comment, "Oh, I never saw anyone put banana pudding in a Pyrex dish." The list goes on and on. She does this to all the family. She will even stand over the dining room table, and say "John, what is this?" when plainly, it is a dish filled with green beans. I want to put a stop to this. I do not like anyone hurting my Mother's feelings. Any advise?

She could write a nice note, thanking them for their visits; and include something along the line that: "I am unable to host over-night or mealtime visits in the future."

LOL. My Mother is so passive, she would never do that. That is why I feel like I need to stand up for her. She "doesn't want to hurt her nephews feelings." Thanks for your input.

My Mom would never stand up for herself, either, Happee. I really want to do it for her, but can't figure out best way to go about it.
