    My fault accident, the other driver laid about no of people in the car
    I had a car crash 1.5 years ago. IN THE OTHER CAR WAS JUST ONE PERSON -THE DRIVER.

    Was there a police report filed at the time of the accdent? What does it say about the number of people in the car?

    There was no police cause there was no damage. After a time the other guy claimed about injuries and another person in the car. I received a letter today to pay 18000 pounds. Cause my insurance will not cover. There was not a scratch on his car.

    I would talk to an attorney and protect yourself. Did an attorney contact you? Where is the letter from?

    The letter is from my insurance company who already paid to the person claiming. Which I did not know about cause the companies dealt between themselves. I was not informed about any taken steps. For 18 thousand pounds he must have had very badly injured. Whish someone scratched my car to get that money. I am not english so I do not know anything about the law in here in that matters. Was calling citizen advice beuaro but they are fully booked till next 4 weeks. So I stucked. And don't know what to do.

    If he waited 18 months to file a claim he can wait one more till you get informed. If no police report was filed how was there a claim against your insurance... and how did your insurance not give you the chance to dispute it...

    Maybe the laws are very different over there. I would suggest hiring a lawyer, I don't see how this was done properly and you may end up saving yourself a lot of money by paying a lawyer a bit of money to take the case.

    After 1.5 years I did not suspect any of that. Now I need to repay to tesco that amount of money. It was just a bloody touch of both cars. The man was fine. Its better that playing lottery. We all should wait for someone to bump on us. God can't believe. I will call them tomorrow to ask about any evidence, medical reports of there is no data protection on it. I just do not know anything I should do.

    Can you just tell me what usually happens when you have a crush/accident etc? In any case to call the police? Even minor? What are the steps? What insurer does? Does he always have to cover? Good will take me 7 years to pay that off.

    And I don't know how they didn't inform me. I got a new car with the same insurer and they send me a statement every month. But never mentioned the previous one. They only made my current insurance higher because of that crush. So I pay already more for new car. Why? I should have a discount now if I must pay that 18000. I don't know nothing about anything feel like someone hit me on the back of my head. Don't know what to think or do.
