    Frigidaire Dryer Not starting
Model GLER 331ASI Electric Dryer will not operate. Wife called out a repair man and he
"Jumped" the timer and started the dryer then said it's the "Thermal Coupler"

Not sure where the Trermal couple is located? Part of the Timer? Isn't that a type of fuse?

    He stated it's about $160.00.

A little high for a 12 year old machine.

Where is this part located ans is it a DIY?

    Thanks

Thank you for your answer but not sure about the answer. I asked about the thermal coupler and what and where it's located.

Part of the Timer or what??

    Thanks for the wiring diagram.

Also, the diagram doesn't list "Thermal coupler" by name. Nor does the web site list a "Thermal Coupler"

That is the reason I posted the entire dryer diagram so you could look for yourself. There is NO thermal coupler in your dryer. They are used in gas dryers and yours is electric according to your model number. I did not want to guess at the part you were talking about since the dryer does not have a thermal coupler.

    It does have a F36 134120900THERMAL LIMITER

But I do not know if a thermal limiter is the part called the thermal coupler your service person said it is. I did not want to mislead you. I felt if you looked it up yourself then you could make that decission. A thermal limiter and a thermal coupler are two totally different items, are used in different style dryers with different fuel supplies one gas the other electric. They are also attached differently.

Now if I had to take a wild guess I would pick the part I listed above as item 36 on this page below

Look at the picture on the corrosponding page here

    http://www.partadvantage.com/catalog...etry(1000x1000)

And see if that is the part you need. I did not want you to order the wrong part as you will need to decide if it is the correct one.

Thanks again, but actually it's for a friends Electric Dryer.

Not sure how the service man got from a $16 part price to a $160 repair?
