What if?
Obama's approval rating looks like it's already starting to slide.
What if those ratings drop sharply?
Do you think that some of those people responsible for his meteoric rise would rather have a martyr than a failed president? If so, they would attempt to blame it on the conservatives.
Now lest some of you think I secretly hope for his early and violent demise, let me assure you that is not so. I would rather see him voted out in 4 years and be done with him than to have him become a martyr that we would never hear the last of.
Just wondering what you think.

Hello gal:
Are you asking whether Obama supporters would rather see him DEAD than fail? That's a pretty bizarre question. What kind of email did you get?
And, if somebody does do him in, you DON'T think it would be a conservative?? Really.
Plus, you bring up his death out of the blue, and try then to convince us that you don't want him dead...
I think you need to go to church and ask for forgiveness.

So what you're really saying is that the only reason you can come up with that you hope he doesn't get killed is because you would get sick of hearing about him? Not because a man is dead, but because his death would cause inconvenience to you by way of having to hear about him forever and a day.
Weird!!

Hey, Ex. Don't you recognize a hypothetical question when you see it? I thought you were supposed to be smart.
By the way, Christians do not deal in assaination. Communists DO.

Galveston - Yes, I was wondering something along the same lines as your hypothetical question as well not too long ago.
I do think that if he was assassinated by a handgun then all handguns and guns of any kind would be banned totally in America. Now, if he were the unfortunate victim of say a bombing, I don't think they're going to ban bombs.
When a politician outlives their usefulness, they are just cast aside like so much litter as history has shown us.
It would not surprise me one bit if there was an assassination and he was declared "dead" when in fact he was not dead at all but had a double endure this assassination while the real O had his face surgically altered and he flees this country to go live elsewhere in extravagant luxury.
He would have fulfilled his "role" of bringing America to its knees finanancially and successfully sidestepped any attempt at having to reveal his true identity, where he was born, what his real name is, etc. Very convenient not having to prove anything and becoming a martyr at the same time. Genius.
Your hypothetical question is very interesting and probably more real than you can imagine.

Any credibility you had, if indeed you had any at all, has completely gone with that post!
Fake deaths, identity changes, martyrs... You watch too much TV.
Hahahaha. Too funny!!

Although I share everyone's abhorrence about the topic, I find the outrage selective .

A movie no one's heard of or saw? You feel there wasn't enough outrage about that movie here? No one saw it or ever heard about it! Meanwhile we are commenting on a topic posted by one of the members here. Your logic is faulty.

It would be a good thing were it a movie no one saw, but it's certainly NOT "a movie no one's heard of." It's release and the controversy surrounding it was in all the papers and probably every cable and network news show, where were you? Thankfully, two of our biggest cinema chains refused to show it.

Right, as if the NY Times, FNC, LA Times, USA Today, NPR and the Guardian have a special Texas edition. Those were the prominent hits on the search I linked. Better luck next time.
