My husband refusing to support me and my children
Hi I am in a bit of dilemma. I am married and have two young children. My husband is not a British, but he is the only one employed in our household. As I am a full time mum to a four year old and a one year old. My husband does not always financially support me, I have got bills outstanding and when I ask him to make sure he is paid on time so I can pay my bills without getting charged a late payment fee, he loses his temper and refuses to participate. Duly because the mortgage has been in my name for the past four years as he did not fit into the requirements of the categories necessay because he had only been in UK for less than a year at that time.

My husband is the only financial backup, and I am confused because if I do not pay the bills or support my children, I will lose them as well as our house. He is not in a position financially to transfer names in order for him to be the owner of the property. He also pressurises me to apply for his British Citizenship although I do not have a clue whether he is with me and the children until he gets British Citizenship. He has been putting strain on our marriage which has affected me mentally. I have been a patient of throat cancer and he was never around to look after my daughter whilst I was receivieng treatment.l Sh stayed at my parents house for a period of one month.

Please advise me on what [I] should du

See if he will have his paycheck deposited directly into your joint account, then offer to relieve him of the burden of managing the bill payment and you write the checks.

If he balks, tell him you won't get his citizenship if he doesn't.

Other than that, there is little you can do.
