    Lethargic, normally active dog
I have a chocolate lab, about 4 years old. She is normally very active, plays with her toys off and on all day, puts her front feet onto the 1/2 door that we use as a gate. Since las night, she hasn't wanted to play, been slow to move around, won't jump up on anything, has a hard time getting up onto the bed which is normally very easy for her. What could be wrong?

She might have the flu. One of my black labs (2yrs old) is very hyper, active and 2wks ago, became lethargic, not intent to eat barely drank and always wanted to lay down and sleep. TOTALLY abnormal for him. I took him to the vet and he had a temp and the vet told me that the flu was going around. For dogs it can be deadly. I don't mean to alarm you but its always good to see the vet if you have the money just to be sure.

Thanks for responding. She acted like that for 2 days, then the next morning she woke up and was her usual self, running up and down the halls with her toys. Im not sure what was wrong, but she seems fine and has an appt at the vet this week anyway, so we will see what he thinks.
