What are the reasons for the IRS putting liens on your tax refund?
I don't have any student loans or anything like that but I got a few overdue phone bills and stuff so I was wondering all the reasons for the IRS to put a lien on your refund.. thank you

Do you know that you have a lien?

Generally the IRS will only accept an attachment of your refund for government debt.

It IS posible for bill collectors to place a lien on your tax return, but it is so long and diifcult and, in the end, so easy to defeat, that most collectors do NOT bother.
