    Is it possible to get a scholarship
    I was wodering If it is possible to a get a scholarship for school, if you are in default with a student loan.

    Hi, jvajr2003!

    A scholarship is something that you don't have to pay back. Whereas, a loan is something that you have to pay back. So, I would say yes, that you should be able to get a scholarship, if you're qualified for the scholarship, even though you might not have paid back a loan.

    It might make a difference though, if monies for both the scholarship and student loan are coming from the same sources. If they're from two, different sources not connected with each other, I don't see why there would be a problem.
