    I am unemployed for 4 months how can I claim my expenses
    Hi

    I am unemployed for 4months how can I claim expenses in my tax returns, I am staying here on H1B visa, I got one job and lost it with in 4 months and I have to relocate to CA from Chicago, Please help me to claim my tax return Thanks..

    What expenses? If you did not have any income, you do not report any income for the four months.

    I believe that Kisohre is operating under the theory that, since he is in this country temporarily on a H-1B visa, that he can deduct his daily living expenses.

    That theory is WRONG! The IRS does NOT consider H-1 jobs to be temporary in nature, so daily living expenses CANNOT be deducted.

    He CAN deduct his moving expenses for the move from Chicago to California if he eventually finds work in alifornia.
