    Problems with 2007 6.0 powerstroke
I've just purchased a 2007 Ford F-250 powerstroke. All the forums I've been to, I can't find anything about 07 6.0 powerstrokes. Can anyone help me out with this. Can I expect problems, or has Ford fixed most of the bugs.

Only the 2003, 2004, and 2005 PSD 6.0L engines had problems--you should be fine. Some of the thoughts in the link below may help you in the future:

I bought a 2004 F250 6.0L New and drove it till I had about 80,000 on it. All the time I had it I only had a few problems. No turbo problems... ect...
Just before I traded it in, It started using anitfreeze. About a gallon a week. I took it to the shop and they could not find the problem. They charged me (should have been under warranty) $150 bucks to check it out and put dye in the coolant. They told me to bring it back in a few weeks so they could check it out. I went to the chevy lot and traded it in. I bought my 08 duramax. 30,000 miles and no problems yet. Love it!
P.S.. . They told me the turbo lasted for 80k because I drove it hard. This kept it from the normal buildup on the variable pitch vanes.

Expect problems you are not anticipating. They have fixed nothing. I have 20 of them anin my fleet and I wish they would all burn. You can not find anything on the forum because Ford wants to be sure you do not find out. Why do you think ford has a law suit with the maker of the powerstroke in indianapolis, oh wait! They have shut their doors!! Imagine that run and hide Fords take on everything. Here are some issues you are about to find out: By the way, the money you thought you saved when you bought it get ready to pay triple.

    1. EGR cooler will need replaced alon with the oil cooler
    2. Injectors will need replaced $480.00 per injector with 7 injectors total.
    3. Head to be replaced

This is just a few. I have finally gotten a response back from Ford Corporate after calling them over and over again. Finally, when my attorney got involved they began taking my phone calls and fixing the issues they know are wrong. They will not do anything until you scream loud enough so don't give up.

I have a 2006, learned a lot on m,y own with research. One of the best things to do is find a shop that can put it on their computer. Biggest issue I had was high volume oil pump and module dropping voltage over time. This is the one that controls voltage to the solenoids on the injectors. Cold starts, no starts, lose of power. etc. What happens over time the electrical pins vibrate loose and loose voltage. Normally this is 48 volts, this voltage will drop allowing the injectors to shift slower which will sometimes show codes saying injector low PSI. point is it is weak. Company in Nashville will take your module and resolder the pins and add some items and carry it up to 58 volts, giving you approx. 30 HP. Faster starts everything. Ford will tell everything from bad injectors, high volume oil pump, or bad module .
Another item is this engine needs 500 PSI from the High volume oil pump to start. It can run up to approx. 2900 PSI at times. You can have a internal leak and this PSI will low and truck will eventually not start, because it does not see 500 PSI on the ICP. Ford has a 49.00 dollar quick connect (They call it a bag of junk) that connects from the discharge side of the HP oil pump to the tubing that runs to the injectors. It will leak and eventually blow out, just circulating oil inside the engine. I say this cause a good computer and the right person to read it can tell a lot about what's happening internal. Don't always trust what those codes are telling you, it could be something simple making it through a code, like the injectors, if your giving it low voltage, its going to be sluggish, slow start, take a lot of time to warm up, and seem like it had lost power. This system is just like a Hydraulic system high psi firing solenoids.
Here we go! When he plugs in you can read the PSI and voltage. Also youi can tell if you have a leak by the position of the regulator on you high PSI pump. Example. If you are idling at say 650 PSI and you regulator read 80-90 %, that means that you pump is almost max. out trying to maintain this PSI. If it is at 25-30 %, it has a lot more and odds are there's no internal leak whether it's the quick connect or o-ring on the injector tubes. Point is be careful with people, its real easy to say your high volume pump is bad and they put a 49.00 part in and charge you 4000.00 or the module. It pays to research and put one on the computer and get all the readings.
Losing coolant in you fill tank is a sure problem with a EGR cooler leaking or head gasket. Hope this helps!! Thanks Temo
