    Patio puddle
We had a new patio poured a few months ago. Unfortunately a puddle now appears each time it rains. It is near one of the expansion grooves. Can we drill holes into the expansion groove to drain the water? There is about 2" of sand under the 4" of concrete. Thanks

Thanks. Dallas TX. It does not freeze very hard here. We do get some below freezing temps overnight, but not usually sustained.

OK, good, I was afraid hard freezes would allow water into the base and then heave when it freezes. Drill a 1/4" hole with a start drill or hammer drill.

    remodlr.

Just on a side note 2" of sand should never be under a concrete slab. This is why it heaves in the winter the sand doesn't let enough water drain through it and freezes and heaves the Crete. 4 inches of stone is what supposed to be under slabs. Sand is for dry laid paver's with no mortar.

It is what it is and you got what you got! You can't really change much at this point but I might question the local building inspector to see if your contractors pulled a permit, an inspection and di it all pass. We can't use sand in the midwest because of our weather but Texas may be a different story.

Puddle on Bathroom Floor [ 6 Answers ]

Noticed a puddle on bathroom floor when no one had been using it. Seems to be coming from the shower/tub area. Could a pipe be leaking behind the wall? If so, does the wall need to be opened up to fix it? Have noticed that faucet handles will not completely shut off after using them (they seem to...

I'm in a big mud puddle - not sure what to do. [ 8 Answers ]

I have really been unexperienced when it comes to intamacy - I have no idea why - I always had a low-self esteem thing going. My friends say that I'm not a bad looking guy, so I really am not sure why I struggled in this department, but the oppurtunity never arrised or I never took enough risks....
