    Check the county's property appraiser's office.

    Check out
    1. building inspectors office, for records of the builiding including builiding permit info
    2. check property tax records ( should show a large change in tax value)

    You could also contact people that you'll find listed on the following site.

    The County of Santa Clara - Assessor, Office of the (ELO)

    From what I've seen so far for Santa Clara County California, there doesn't seem to be a way to find property information like that online. Maybe there is, but I haven't found it yet.

    Here is a link to the parcel of land on the assessors website. It doesn't give too much information of when the building was built but it does give you all of the appraised values for the property for the last three years. Hope this helps.

    By looking at this page the current owner took possession of the propert in August of 2004. That does not necessarily mean that the building was not already there though.
