    Aftermarket headlight problems??
I have '91 honda accord and someone gave me a set of aftermarket carbon fiber headlights and put them on for me. I'm not sure exactly what kind they are but they have the halogen bulbs in them. One of them kept going on and off every time I tapped it. On the back of the low beam light was a plastic cap, I took the cap off and a ball of alluminum foil fell out!? Someone had put it in there I guess, well I don't know why but the foil got so hot it was starting to melt the plastic cap. It looks like a piece is missing that should hold the bulb and all in place. Could someone please help me or tell me where I should go to find out what is missing??

Go to the other headlight, and take the plastic cap off and look at what is in it. Does it look like something simple you could make? Go to a DIY oriented auto store and look at their display of bulb sockets. Anything there that looks like it would fit or could be made to work? If not, that leaves you with contacting wherever he bought them and trying to get the right piece. My experience is that often the parts aren't in stock and would cost more the whole assembly. If the piece was missing when he bought it, they should replace it somehow, most likely with another unit.

I'm having problems with my aftermarket headlights.
Hey, can anybody help me, please. I have a 96 Accord and I bought aftermarket headlights for her. The lights were cool for a while, but then the low beam lights started to burn out roughly every six months. Can't figure out why this problem persists. Now a new problem arose, one low beam light is brighter than the other. After market lights are H3 not the conventional 9006 design. Can anybody give me any suggestions to what the causes might be and possible solutions, Thank You. :D
