Cancer in dogs caused by second hand smoke??
On the news last night it showed a segment about how 2nd smoke can cause cancer in dogs and other pets! I myself was unaware of this. So all you pet owners out there, who smoke you now have a really good reason to quit smoking as you are no longer just harming yourself but your dog also.

Just take a look at this site:

This is really interesting. I am a smoker (unfortunately) I ONLY smoke outside of my house (I also wear a jacket or shirt over what I am wearing and take it off by the door before I come inside)...
Not only is smoking bad for youe animals, but household cleaners are as well. They can cause diseases and be fatal to your animals. Dryer sheets can be terribly dangerous as well. I worked with a man who's dog got ahold of a dryer sheet and ate it... the poor pup passed away from it... :(

Very interesting! I was unaware of that. I myself am allergic to cigarette smoke and it makes me very sick. Luckily since me household doesn't smoke, me and my pets manage to avoid it most of the time, but when its around in public my dog gets very anxious. She has probably come to associate the smell with my tension and sometimes bouts of nearly not being able to breathe, and has sometimes warned me of smokers before I even realized their presence.

Yeah you know Silverfoxkit, I had always been told if there was one thing that huskies couldn't do was be guard dogs. But this is not the case with my siberian. For instance when I am sick or when people are fighting or if I am afraid, rex knows and he'll come running and stay by my side. I remember one night I woke up in the middle of the night, looked down and rex wasn't there this got me kind of panicked because I honest to god can not sleep anywhere if he isn't by my bed, and so in my mond I asked myself '' where's rex'' then he came in my room and licked my hand, it was amazing, like he read my thought but of course he just felt my panic.
