I have genital warts and I wanted to know if I get pregnant would I pass it to my baby through a normal birth? And I haven't broke out for about 9 months now.

If you have no outbreaks, you can give birth vaginally.

However, I am not sure that the virus is passed on in the blood even though there are no outbreaks. You need to ask a professional.

How does HPV affect a pregnancy?
Women who had genital warts in the past, but no longer have them, will most likely not have any problems during pregnancy or birth. However, for women who have genital warts during pregnancy, the warts may grow, or may become larger and bleed. In rare cases, a pregnant woman can pass HPV to her baby during vaginal delivery. A baby that is exposed to HPV very rarely develops warts in the throat or voice box.
If the warts block the birth canal, a woman may need to have a cesarean-section (C-section) delivery. However, HPV infection or genital warts are not a sole reason for C-section.

My mother got this right before she had my baby sister. I have 3 sisters. Im the oldest, my 25 and my 16 sister have this as well. My baby sister got it from my mom, where my 25 yr old sister got it from her Exhubby. Both of her kids carry the virus as well. So to let you know if you have a natural birth your baby will carry the virus.

Yes, but do they have it because they were present in the vagina at the time of birth?

Doctors do say if there is no outbreaks, it can't be passed on.

But what about it passing on without an outbreak since hpv is a virus.

First, I would absolutely speak to my doctor about this. You may have already passed on the virus through the blood stream, but a doctor will let you know for sure. This thread is almost three years old. Chances are the original poster will never see your advice. As well the situation has probably been dealt with in the meantime. Please look at the date of the last post before respond. Resurrecting old threads doesn't do anyone any good. :-)
