    Probability
In a small city, approximately 14% of those eligible are called for jury duty in any one calendar year. People are selected for jury duty at random from those eligible, and the same individual cannot be called more than once in the same year.

What is the probability that a particular eligible person in this city is selected two years in a row?

What is the probability that a particular eligible person in this city is selected three years in a row?

    also,

Three friends (A, B, and C) will participate in a round-robin tournament in which each one plays both of the others. Suppose that P(A beats B) = 0.6, P(A beats C) = 0.4, P(B beats C) = 0.3, and that the outcomes of the three matches are independent of one another.

What is the probability that A wins both her matches and that B beats C?

What is the probability that A wins both her matches?

What is the probability that A loses both her matches?

What is the probability that each person wins one match? (Hint: There are two different ways for this to happen.)

You know the probability of being selected in one year, so calculate the probability of someone NOT being selected in one year. That's independent from year to year, so for 2 years, simply multiply that probability by itself. That's the probability of NOT being selected in two years. So what's the probability of being selected?

It's a similar calculation for three years.

Try a similar calculation for the tournament.
