    Earned Income Credit (EIC)
In 2004 through 2006 I got back over $4K for my EIC last year in 2007 when I filed I only got back $1,700 for my EIC with the same number of children. This year when I filed I had an extra child and still only got back $2,600 for my EIC. Why? How could I go from $4K with 2 children to $1,700 with the same children to $2600 with 3 children?

The EIC is determined by a number of factors. They are:

    - no child, one child or two or more children.
    - the level of earned income.

I suspect that, in 2007, your income level was higher, resulting in a lower EIC.
