    can I install a swanstone shower with 36' x 35" opening?
    Hi, I have a shower opening of 35" wide and 36" deep so I would have to go with the smaller shower floor size of 32"x32" rather than 36"x36". The question is what is the best way to close the opening so all the panels fit against the walls? Thanks paul

    If you want use a 2x4 sideways on each side walls lay the 36" lengths and pencil mark where the existing studs location on the 36" piece. Set saw for 1 inch depth cut and install grooved stud sideways om existing studs 16" oc from floor to ceiling.

    Now this will be perfect for the back. Cut 35" 2x4s lay flat ( 3 1/2) on the new horizontal side studs Push them against the old 2bys. Now that is 3 1/2 build out and 1/2 inch drywall on top equals 4" build out from back wall.

    I'm curious why can't you just build the sides in and push the unit against the back wall and that gives you 4" for a return to the face front on the shower which is normal.
