I pulled out old tub and need to replace with new. The tub is 60" and the opening is 60 1/2". Is this possible? I have been trying and can't get it done. Do I need to open wall and slide in? Kevin

How do you install an acrylic showwer receptor using "setting bed" cement? The sub floor is good and the hole for the drain is 5" as recommended. How do you actually form the setting bed so the receptor is level? 48" x 34" and that's all the space I have to work with.

I have always used plumber's putty to seat a drain to the sink or tub. With the new "plastics" the recommendation is for one to use silicone instead because the plumber's putty is oil-based and presumably will cause degradation of the "plastic".
