Ive Been Thinking About Coming out to my parents about smoking weed but I don't know what would say or how I should say it. My mom is the type of person who would understand but my dad is 300x more strict. What should I do?

Talk to Mom.she will always protect you! Go girl,my kids always talk to me and it is good for everybody. :)

Do you really want to know what you should do? Okay, stop smoking weed, then there's nothing to tell.

Really, why are you doing drugs, and why on earth would any parent be okay with it?

Honesty is great, I applaud you for that, and I think you should tell them so they can get you some help.

You would like to "come out" to your parents about smoking weed, like this is a behavior that you expect them to accept??

I agree with Alty, you need to stop smoking and I expect that your parents will agree. Honesty is wonderful and a rule to live by is that is you feel like you are going to have to lie to ANYONE about what you are doing, then you probably shouldn't be doing it in the first place. If you are comfortable making that choice for yourself, then be proud of who you are and what you have done and except the consequences of your choice with HONESTY.

So if you are proud of smoking weed and feel that you aren't doing anything wrong, why are you lying about it? If you would like there direction to quit smoking, then please speak to them about this. Otherwise stop the behavior that you feel inclined to have to lie about.

Yes, and perhaps you can share you want to grow up to be a drug dealer, they may be so proud.

You should share with them, to help you get off the drugs, rehab is needed.

I hope I didn't appear as if I was condoning drug use,I am not!!
What I think is important is to be up front with your parents so they can get you the help you need!
If more kids were honest about what they are doing,the parents would be in a position to stop it before it gets out of control.

I'm just curious why it is so crucial for you to let them know in the first place?
Do you expect them to join you?

It's nice if your mother understands, but don't you want your parents to be proud of you and the choices you make?
And smoking weed isn't exactly something I believe most parents would be very proud of.

If it were me I would start with a question abot the subject like umm "What if I had a friend that smoked weed and you were their parents what would you do or say to them?"
Well that's just me if I were in this situation
But you shouldn't of started smoking weed in the first place.

Your parents likely already know.

It is a most distinctive odour, and even if you aren't smoking in the house, it's in your clothes, your hair, the car.

I'm surprised that they haven't asked you about it.

Why do you want to come clean about it. Are you hoping that they will understand, or are you hoping that they will do what is probably the predictable reaction, and insist on finding a way to help you stop the smoking.

When you say your mother will probably understand, what does that mean. That she would support you using?
