    Sports while pregnant
    Hi.

I have just found out I'm pregnant, It was not meant to happen because we were planning a ski trip.
We had been trying, then took a break so I could ski without any concerns

A little worried about it, its all paid for already. I will be 11 weeks when we go.
I go skiing most years for a few days and I'm a competent skier. We ski a lot while there but don't do anything dangerous, I have a great sense of self preservation. As I work with horses. So I'm in a position of some what danger every day anyway.

I have a 2 year old and when I was pregnant with her I was horse riding everyday until was 4 months.

What do you think about me skiing.

It's up to you. Some women continue for awhile into their pregnancy, some choose not to.

Does your doctor or midwife ski? They would be the ones to ask. Whether they ski or not themselves can play a role in their advice. If they do ski, they will be more likely to say yes, this early on it is not as much of a concern as long as you are using common sense. If they don't ski, they will likely say no, too risky for falls.
Sometimes too it will depend on where you are going. There may be restrictions in place for pregnant women. Might check that out as well.

Obviously some forms of skiing would be great exercise while pregnant, other forms would be out of the question.

Ok, there is a rampant use of drugs in what seems to be in just about every sport. Consider this: Make a whole class of sports where it is a REQUIREMENT to be under the influence of something. Evey athlete gets tested before the event, and if they are sober, they don't play. XenoSapien
