My son just turned 5 years, he always had this problem of getting up in his sleep once or twice a night. Sometimes he just sits up on the bed, comes to me cuddles and sleeps again, sometimes he cries for a second and sleeps off , sometimes he uses the toilet and sleeps off. I am not sure if I have to worry or if it is just a normal thing. Is he having nightmares or is he scared or what. He breathes noisily so is that the cause. Please help.

My son had this to a greater extent. He would try to get out the front door and call out a lot. The brain just isn't shutting down his motor functions when he sleeps. The good news is your son isn't losing any sleep at all but I'm guessing you are. He should eventually grow out of it in a few months.
