Is Carrier built in the USA?
I was considering a new heatpump. I priced one (3 ton) for around $4.000, I would like to buy an American product. Is it?

Their website states headquarters are in Farmington CT but doesn't say exactly where the units are built. You may want to explore their website in depth by accessing it on Google. You may find info where I didn't.

Furnaces built here but many of the parts are imported from other countries. NO furnace in the USA is all built in the USA because we no longer manufacturer motors, circuit boards, transformers, sensors, thermostats etc. The reason is our manufacturing costs are too high. Example if you pay 1500.00 for a furnace today the same furnace built completely in the USA would cost 2500.00. Most citizens of the USA will take the 1500.00 furnace since it is cheaper so you can see why the parts are made in different countries. It is to be able to sell the furnaces that the USA can or will afford. Many people want to blame the USA companies for moving some or all of there businesses off shore but it is actually the American public that caused this to start with since they want it cheaper and will refuse to buy the product if it costs more. Very SAD since I would buy something if it was made only in the USA since I am fortunate to be able to afford it but the items are no longer available.
