    My rabbit!
    Hi guys,

I am hoping someone can help me.
I have a rabbit but I am not sure if there is something wrong with him or not.
Everyday he is let out of his hutch to get some fresh air and run around. But he just
Sits in his hutch and doesn't come out and run around or play.I recently bought a rabbit
Harness in my local pet store and I bring him for a walk around the garden which I think he enjoys.
He lets you pick him up and pet him but it can be quite hard to catch him in his hutch. He never makes any noises or anything and I am just wondering does anyone know of a way to make his life a bit more exciting? Also what type of toys do they like?

    Thanks,
    Laurel1

    Hi Laurel,

First of all, how old is your rabbit? Is he neutered? Is he mainly an outdoor rabbit? What kind of food are you giving him?

It could be that your rabbit is just lonely, or it could be the fact that it's winter, he may liven up a bit in the summer.

A neutered male rabbit is a lot easier to handle, more calm, and will live longer. If he isn't neutered I'd make an appointment to get that done, you'll notice a huge change in him.

As for toys. You don't have to spend a lot of money for rabbit toys. An old telephone book is wonderful, it's safe and it helps them deal with stress. Also, a toilet paper roll filled with timothy hay is a wonferful toy. Don't trust all the toys in pet stores, even though they are made for rabbits, many of them aren't safe.

I look forward to you coming back and telling me a bit more about your rabbit. I've had rabbits all my life, I currently have 4, so any questions you may have, I'm here to answer them.

    Good luck.
