I am bi, and have a crush on a straight man, but I just want to be his mate?
    Hi

I am a student in my final yr and I have had a huge crush on a guy in anouther class, he's straight, loves his sports and is really friendly and says a lot of meaninful things.

I didn't use to talk to him, but I recently went away on a trip to do with my course and his class went as well, we stayed in a hotel and everyone got drunk and I had a long chat with him, and now were mates... I have had crushes on "striaght men" before, and the same thing happens, I become friends with them, and eventually we end up being more then friends, this has happened 3 times in the past 5 yrs... and as much as I would love it to happen this time, I don't want to ruin our new friendship, but I know I will say something to him, telling him I like him...

I am so confused because I do have a crush on him, and I want to me more then friends, but at the same time I don't? It might just be because I know deep down nothing will happen and I don't want to fall out over it... but due to my past experiences I think there might be a chance...

Does any one know how I can get over it, and just learn to feel for him as a friend? And not as something more?

Any help would be great thanks.

No, you are hanging out with him trying to make him a boyfriend, so what happened in the other cases, you are not with them any longer??

But what you need to do is either be friends, or try and date.

Trying to date a straight person is like me liking Janet Jackson, all in my dreams

Well in the other cases, the guys where straight, and we ended up fooling around and in one case we ended up as a couple, and we have all just moved apart now. I tell myself not to do nothing and just be happy we are mates, but in the back of my head I want to get in there... it sucks!

Sounds like you have to sit yourself down and ask, what do I really really want? Is it time for such things or are you still looking to explore other options. Yes that may be a good place to start.

I would say, don't feed your fantasy and let it go.

Move on to other stuff. :)
