    New insulation over old atic insulation
    Presently there are three layers of aluminum with air spaces. Can I put bats directly over this insulation and what do I have to be concerned about.

    Can you explain that better, If any insulation is added with in layers and it has foil in those layers then you have a problem here. Be on top of each other. The foil vapor barrier should be on the warm side of the room only and one barrier only

    So need details here and I can get the correct answer for you.
    Insulation HAS to be put in right or it won't work because of moisture problems
