My ex accused me of breaking his window and said he have his cousin and next door niegibor as witness but they didn't see me bust a window

Now he say he pressing charges the police haven't came talk to me so what can I do to prove that I didn't do it

They have to prove that you did it you don't have to prove that you didn't. Right now it sounds like your word against his and that isn't enough evidence in my mind.

If you really didn't do it tell the police the truth as soon as they come to you. Tell them where you were, what you were doing and how you had nothing to do with it. Don't lie to the police ever as chances are they will find out.

If you did do it say nothing, tell them you are innocent but you don't want to answer any questions without an attorney present. Unless they had you on camera doing this or some other really damming evidence they probably won't peruse it any further as it isn't that serious of a crime.

I think this stinks when people mess around with someone like this. You can just as easily ask a friend to say you were with them but why? Even if the truth doesn't sounds like the truth, try try try. I agree with Codyman and that you should just be truthful when talking to the police. I wouldn't worry about it, I think he's being a jerk and trying to stress you out. On the in case that the police do eventually some to speak to you, make sure that you take a second before answering there questions. If you know of the night that you are accused of make sure to tell the police officers when and where you were and who you were with. Believe that they may check into your alibi. If they charge you they may or may not take you to jail, depending on the state law as well as the officer. Either way, plead not guilty, at that point in time you will go in front of a judge for arraignment and you should be given an attorney who more than likely will tell you that you should plead guilty and take a lesser charge and a small fee, but if you did not do it then don't plead guilty. Ask the judge for a PR bond.(Personal Recog) That's all I can say, hope it helps.

They didn't see it or OP didn't do it? It can't be both ways.

I am going to disagree with the others who have answered - do NOT talk to the Police. If you feel compelled to do so, have an Attorney present. The Police are NOT on your side. Innocent or not you are not required to speak to them.

The last person was right, police are never on your side, even when you are innocent. They would rather frame an innocent person rather that admit they can't solve a crime. The two most important things to know when dealing with them are 1. Never answer questions or make a statement to police without a lawyer, and 2. Never consent to search of your home, car or person without a warrant.

First most likely he is just threatening you trying to control or scare you in some way, And honestly I doubt he even goes files a report.

And if it has been a few days after the event, he will lose a lot of belief for waiting so long.

Next if he does, depends on the state, in some, he will tell them and they will investigate to see if there is enough evidence to go to the grand jury to get a charge against you,

In other states such as GA, he could actually file in court to present the evidence to get the judge to have you charged if there is any evidnece.

But at this point you stop talking to him, do not text do not call do not talk at all.

If the police do show up, do not talk to them without an attorney
