    Credit card debt
I live in Texas. A little over two years ago I signed on with Superior Debt Services to settle my debt which was about 40,000. They informed me that since I lived in Texas that I was "safe". After 15 months of payments, I had to drop out, since after making the monthly payments I only had less than $100 to live on. The credit card with the highest debt, around 13,000 os the only one still calling. I've also had messages from attorneys. So where am I right now? I'm 66 years old and have only Social Security income.

Where you are is may be what's know as judgement proof. If you have no assets and no income but social security, then even if the creditors get judgements against you, there is nothing for them to attach.

I would send each creditor a letter stating that you have no assets and nothing but exempt income. Apologize that you are unable to pay your debts.

If they sue you, show up in court and tell the judge the same thing.
